THE VILLA
You'll be staying in a beautifully restored 19th century villa located at the base of the village of Bagnols-en-Forêt, between the Haut Var and the coast of Provence. We chose this residence for its charming surroundings, its spacious indoor / outdoor living / dining areas and well appointed kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and its central proximity to the day trips we will be taking to the north, east, south and west. The style of architecture is called a "Bastide," which was more elegant than a typical Provençal farmhouse, usually constructed as a second home for a bourgeois family. The furnishings are simple, and the swimming pool and petanque court will be available for our recreation.
The villa has 9 bedrooms in all. Five have private baths and four have shared baths (2x2). Beds in this residence are typical of France: four rooms have "King" beds that are actually two twins side by side, five rooms have double beds.
