My husband and I had a great experience. Chef Alex & Amy were welcoming and knowledgeable. We learned new culinary techniques and how to cook a traditional French bistro dish (Steak au Poivre). We enjoyed a tasty French cocktail and met some cool people. I would definitely recommend this experience.

We had a delightful experience cooking with Alex. The group was just the right size (6), so everyone got to pitch in with the chopping, peeling, and cooking in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Alex offered many helpful pro-tips, and the food (Salad Nicoise with tuna steak and Gougeres) was fresh and delicious. We’d go again in a heartbeat!

Chef Alex and his wife Amy were excellent hosts. I enjoyed being in the kitchen and learning from a true professional. I have to admit, I’m jealous of the great pans and knives. The salad was unique and it was fun to learn new techniques. I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone.

A truly wonderful evening! It was a memorable experience to be welcomed into Amy and Chef Alex’s lovely home for a fun and engaging cooking lesson followed by a delicious French meal around the table. A perfect balance of casual and comfortable while learning some new techniques and tips to take home. A truly unique and personalized local experience (accommodating food allergies, preferences, skill levels and selection of highest quality fresh ingredients and produce). Thank you, Amy and Alex, for sharing a flavor of St. Augustine and a night we’ll remember (including for our two teenagers).

An evening you will fondly remember. Amy and Chef Alex are great at making everyone feel welcome. We all did some of the food preparation and cooking. Chef Alex shared several stories and we had some good laughs too. The meal that we prepared turned out delicious. I would highly recommend!! Wished we lived closer!

These lovely people make you feel as if they’ve known you awhile and your coming over for the evening dinner!! They are very comfortable to be around. They don’t rush anything like they are just trying to get the money. It’s very relaxed and they take their time with you, teach you about the food and the different techniques. Wonderful experience and the food was delicious!! Taking a class with others made the evening more enjoyable as well! :)

I had a great night with Amy and Alex. I was traveling alone and they made me feel comfortable immediately.
There was lively conversation throughout the night with continual tips from chef Alex as we went along. He answered all questions even those unrelated to the dishes we were making.
I think I was fortunate there were just four students. It was the perfect size for participating.

Alex and Amy were very warm and welcoming as we entered their home for our evening of cooking and fun conversation. We chopped, sautéed, and stirred our way through the process of producing a delicious meal. Alex provided great tips and advice very naturally throughout the evening making it feel like we were making dinner with an old friend rather than someone we met just a minute ago. Alex was very accommodating with dietary restrictions and talked through the changes he made to adapt for everyone. My wife and I had a great time and highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting St. Augustine.

This experience is worth doing. We had a great time and learned a lot. I now have some helpful tools to help me do what I love to do. This was the first cooking class my husband and I have ever taken. We will for sure do this again next time we are in St Augustine. Chef Alex was very helpful and encouraging. If you enjoy learning new things and gaining wisdom from others then you will love this experience. It was nice to sit down at the end of the class and share meal with people you just meet I have missed doing that. So glad we can start to do that again.

We cooked with Chef Alex on January 15th. We had several occasions to celebrate and Chef Alex made sure everyone had a special experience. There were 8 of us in the group total. We felt we could have benefited (participated more in the cooking/asked more questions related to Chef Alex's cooking expertise, etc.) if there had been a smaller group. We nonetheless had a wonderful time. Chef Alex and his wife Amy were incredibly sweet and accommodating. It was a very unique and personal experience and most importantly our steak au poivre, bavette marchand de vin, sautéed baby potatoes, and french green beans were all delicious! We would come back to cook with Chef Alex again in a heartbeat if we could—highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful experience! Amy and Chef Alex are great hosts, we had a fabulous time with them and the other guests, and the food was delicious. Our group of 2 couples enjoyed a Sunday brunch. Alex was quite entertaining with some good stories and Amy was so sweet to let our dog hang out with her outside along with her dog. We would definitely recommend this enjoyable time.

Amazing Experience! Far exceeded our expectations. We were greeted at the door and instantly made a connection after the first introduction. Amy and Alex created a warm and welcoming, and very clean environment. The experience was not just about cooking but about sharing our experiences with one another. While we told stories, Alex gave us step-by-step explanations and we learned by joining Alex and Amy in preparing the meal. There’s something magical about preparing a meal together with strangers, and within a few minutes we were sharing our own personal journeys. The food was super-fresh and healthy. They have two beautiful cats and a handsome and polite dog. They didn’t bother us at all but allowed us to feel at home and welcome. Messaging Amy in preparation for the dinner was prompt and informational, helping us decide on our menu. We chose the salad Nicoise. The ingredients were intentionally and conscientiously chosen for freshness. Even though we are from Louisiana and know how to cook, we learned a lot of new tips. Dinner was served on their quaint dining table where we continued sharing stories and making connections. Even the bottle of wine Alex served us had a unique story. I can’t wait to visit Florida again so we can partake in another experience with Alex and Amy, and the neighbor who we also made a great connection with and laughed with. I highly highly recommend this experience.
