PROVENCE CULINARY ADVENTURE

THE ADVENTURE

Whenever we go to France to visit Alex's family in Paris or Provence, our friends ask if they can come along.  And over the years, we have brought some of them with us on our travels.  It's always a unique and memorable experience, and now, we want to share it with YOU!  We are taking small groups (10-12 guests) on a six-day culinary and cultural adventure to the Cotê D'Azur, where the fragrance of lavender, herbs de Provence, fresh truffles, wild mushrooms and the Mediterranean sea scent the air. We will introduce you to the flavors of local produce, nearby wineries and seafood right off the fishing boat to awaken your palette.  You'll stay in a historic Provençal mansion located in a hillside village and you'll meet our local friends, who will share the secrets of the region and its many culinary delights.

 

We'll also take daily excursions that vary with the season: to the market in nearby Fayence, and to Cannes or Saint-Raphaël to discover the bounty the Mediterranean has to offer, and to shop where the movie stars go.  We will take you to the famous village of Saint-Paul de Vence to discover the best local artisans in this breathtaking medieval village, and to tour the Foundation Maeght and dine at the renown La Colombe d'Or. And of course, Chef AlexG will host a series of family-style cooking classes in which you will learn new techniques and traditional recipes that have been handed down to him from both his Parisian and Provençal families. No doubt he will add a few twists to the menus to add some surprises to your meals.

PICK UP and DROP OFF

We provide round trip transfer from and to Nice Airport (mid-morning / mid-afternoon).

Taxi and car services are also available. Car travel to villa in Bagnols-en-Fôret is just under an hour from Nice, Cannes, Antibes.​

PRICING

For October 2025* -

Double occupancy and a shared hall bathroom (shared by 2 bedrooms): $3250 / per person​

Single occupancy room with shared bath:  $3650 / per person

​

Double occupancy room with private bath:  $3500 / per person

​

Single occupancy room with a private bath: $4000 / per person

Terms & Conditions

A deposit of $750 per person is required at booking to reserve your place on the tour.  Another $750 pp  is due 150 days before the tour starts, and the balance is due in full 90 days before the tour starts.

Cancellation

Your deposit is refundable in full within the first 30 days of your deposit, so long as you have booked more than 150 days before the start date of the tour. If you book within 150 days of the start date of the tour, your deposit is immediately non-refundable (with a 24 hour cancellation grace period), unless we are able to rebook your spot.  We keep a waiting list in case of cancellations.

Your hosts Alex Gunuey and Amy Kalafa are eager to share their knowledge of French cuisine, sustainable agriculture and fine art.  The couple met in the global television news world and went on to produce and edit award-winning TV series and films about food, French culture and music.  They were also co-founders of Animal Farm, the first certified organic poultry and game bird farm on the East Coast, with customers such as Anthony Bourdain, Dean & Deluca, David Bouley and The Peninsula Hotel.  Alex founded Chef AlexG, LLC in St. Augustine, Florida in 2021. Amy is a Certified Holistic Health Coach and holds an MBA in Sustainability.  Alex comes from a family of artists whose work has shown in galleries throughout France.
